P.S. Products was formed in 1992. In the beginning Personal Security Products (P.S.P) operated out of a two bedroom apartment in West Little Rock. Having purchased the franchise rights to a product called Equalizer, Billy Pennington set out door to door to sell the key chain pepper spray unit to anyone interested. Billy quickly found success by landing his first big account, a pharmacy chain called Petty's drugs. Shortly after that, Billy was joined by Eric Baker. The two quickly came up with their own trademark of pepper spray called the Eliminator, and began selling it to pharmacies, gun shops, pawn shops, grocery stores, and wholesale companies all across the southwest. In those days it was very common for them to load up a vehicle and take off for two or three days until every unit was sold. After working almost two years out of Billy's apartment, selling products by day and packaging by night, the guys were finally ready to take the next step.

P.S. Products got their first office space in Southwest Little Rock. They then began to go to national trade shows and picked up their first overseas account, K Brothers, who sold their pepper spray to Japan. During the five years that P.S. Products was in Southwest Little Rock, they would hire anybody and everybody to help them package products, and continue to grow. With the help of family and friends from church, they often packaged pepper spray all night to meet deadlines on orders.

In the late 90's P.S.P. got it's next big break. A salesperson came to visit from a handicapped workshop called AEDD (Arkansas Enterprises for the Developmentally Disabled) seeking employment for their workers. They were given a hand full of units along with packaging for them to do a time study. A couple of days later he returned and said they would love to do the packaging for P.S.P and gave them a very fair price. That freed up Billy and Eric's time to find new customers and sales reps, and to begin looking to diversify their pepper spray line with new items.

In 1998, P.S. Products had outgrown their office, so they found their new home in downtown Little Rock at 414 S. Pulaski Street. Along with the contacts they picked up at the trade shows, they found an agent overseas and began to start shopping for new items to offer to their customers. With the help of some very good reps, they picked up some of the largest catalog companies in the world.

In 2004, Billy and Eric embarked on their first trip to China to look at factories and shop for new items. Also that year, Billy came up with a new trademark for P.S.P., a sporting goods line named Sportsman's Choice. This helped P.S.P. branch out from the securities industry and offer their customers an even wider variety of items. P.S.P. has continued to grow every year since, and is on the pace for yet another record year.

In 2006 P.S.P. has made a couple more changes that will help continue the growth of the company. They have recently partnered with their overseas broker to give them office capability in Hong Kong and China. This gives P.S.P. a more first hand account of daily activities, along with current searches of new and better items in the orient This broadened approach to new items and new business will pay P.S.P. massive dividends in the immediate future. There have also been some key staff additions in the last couple of years. Pam Dunlap does all the bookkeeping and accounting. Herb Baker takes care of all the shipping, receiving, and the warehouse. Top salesman Chris Henderson and Gina McCarley have joined the team, and we must mention super-rep Stu Ryan! With quality products competitive prices, and a hard working friendly staff, the sky is the limit for P.S. Products!
